7.3 - Identification




There are different types of the Tiptronic control modules for the vehicle type Carrera. These control modules are identical with respect to hardware. Only their part and type test numbers are different. Since interchanging the control modules can destroy the transmission, coding is contained in the vehicle wiring harness (pin code 1 and pin code 2) which must match the coding programmed in the control module.

NOTE: The allocation of the part number can be taken from the corresponding Parts Catalogue.

The following blocks are displayed after actuating the Info key F8.
Content of the blocks:
Block 1: Porsche part number; 11-digit
Block 2: Bosch hardware number; 10-digit
Block 3: Bosch software number of unprogrammed device, 10-digit
Block 4: Porsche diagnosis SW status; 3-digit
Block 5: Bosch hardware code/version number
