Information:
Replacement engines are shipped with an alternator, but are not shipped with the components listed below. Therefore, the following components must be transferred from the previous engine before installation:
- Air conditioning compressor. Except 2.7 liter and 3.2 liter E-gas eng
- Polyrib drive belt
- Torque converter drive plate (Tiptronic vehicles, Figure 1)
- Dual-mass flywheel and pilot bearing (manual transmission vehicles, Figure 2)
- Clutch assembly (manual transmission vehicles, Figure 3).
Note:
Always replace the bolts for the flywheel (Part Number, 999 073 092 09 - 8 ea.) and the torque converter drive plate bolts (Part Number, 999 073 091 09 - 8 ea.).

Engines with Manual or Tiptronic transmissions
1. The hose leading to the secondary air pump is closed off with a plug and secured with a clamp.
The plug must be removed and the hose must be connected to ensure proper secondary air operation.
2. 2.7 and 3.2 liter E-gas engines are supplied with an A/C compressor.
