Selector lever button pops off when selecting drive positions.

Information:





The selector lever button can pop off the selector lever when the drive positions are selected. A modified button and compression spring has been installed in Tiptronic equipped vehicles as of September 20, 2000 with the VIN numbers shown.

The modified selector button can be recognized by the date of production (800 or higher 8= month, 00= year) which is molded into the underside of the button.

The modified selector button and spring are available in a repair kit, and can be installed on earlier vehicles that exhibit this problem.
