Procedures

Removing and installing engine - Carrera 4 (as of MY 02)
Additional operation for all-wheel drive
The removal and installation of the engine/transmission unit is carried out in the same way as in the Carrera 2 description (Tiptronic and manual transmission) with the following additional operation.





1. Remove transmission support.

Note;
- Observe max. joint angle of 20° when removing and fitting. Furthermore, the cardan joint must not be loaded at max. deflection (stop).





- When unscrewing and tightening the cardan shaft screw connection, a second person should counter with a suitable tool (e.g. long screwdriver)!
- A second person is required to help when lifting out and installing the cardan shaft!

2. Removing and installing cardan shaft.
During installation, the cardan shaft must be installed before mounting the transmission support.
