Starter Motor: Service and Repair



Removing And Installing Starter







- Before the starter can be removed, the intake distributors must be detached.
- Disconnect battery.

WARNING: The battery must be properly disconnected before the electrical wires are detached on the starter.

Removing the starter
1. Unscrew fastening nuts -1- and -2- on the starter, remove the wires and lay them to one side.







2. Undo both fastening screws -3-.







3. Pull starter forward in the direction of travel -A-, turn slightly -B- and remove in an upward direction -C-.







Installing the starter
1. Place the starter from above on the engine -C-, turn slightly -B- and position in the mount -A- on the engine.







2. Push through fastening screws -3- on the starter, screw into the engine housing and tighten.







3. Position electrical wires on the starter and tighten with fastening nuts -1- and -2-.
- Fit intake distributor.
- Connect the battery.
