Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

Technical values





Preliminary work for removing knock sensor

1. Place protective covers on the vehicle to avoid damaging the body.
2. Remove intake-air distributor -> 244620 Remove and install intake-air distributor - section on "Removing" Removal and Replacement.

Removing knock sensor

1. Release and disconnect cable plug -1-.
2. Mark installation position of knock sensor so that cable plug can be reconnected after installation.
3. Remove knock sensor -3- by unscrewing the Torx screw (M8 x 35) -2-.

Installing knock sensor

1. Insert knock sensor -3- in the original position and then screw in and tighten the Torx screw (M8 x 35) -2-. => Tightening torque: 15 ftlb..
2. Push on cable plug -1-.

Subsequent work for installing knock sensor

1. Install intake-air distributor for the relevant cylinder bank -> 244620 Removing and installing intake-air distributor - section on "Installing" Removal and Replacement.
