Eliminating Noise Symptoms - Reworking The Centre Console

Symptoms

Creaking noises from around the seat/centre console.

Causes and remedial action

Depending on the installation and component tolerances, creaking noises can come from the adaptive sports seat when it is positioned as far back and as far down as it can go when driving around corners as a result of friction between the backrest side bolsters and centre console.

In the event of a complaint, protective film must be affixed to the sides of the centre console to remedy the situation on vehicles manufactured before the date of introduction June 2005.

Reworking the centre console

1. Move front seat at the left and right as far forward as it will go, and fold the backrest forward.
2. Stick protective film -1- to the left and right of the centre console -2- at the marked area.







3. Move front seats back to their original position.
