Removing And Installing Heat Exchanger

Removing heat exchanger







1. Release the two fastening clamps for the coolant hoses of the heat exchanger and slide them back over the hoses.
2. Carefully lift off the cover of the heat exchanger and remove from the body.

INFORMATION: If the cover of the heat exchanger is damaged during removal, it must be replaced.







3. Undo the two fastening screws -1- and carefully lift the heat exchanger up and out.

Installing heat exchanger







1. Carefully insert heat exchanger from above into the heating/air-conditioning unit and secure with the fastening screws -1-. - Tightening torque: 1.0 ftlb.

INFORMATION: If the cover of the heat exchanger is damaged during removal, it must be replaced.







2. Check the seal at the cover of the heat exchanger and repair using a commercially available butyl adhesive or replace if necessary.







3. Push the cover over the connections of the heat exchanger and press into place against the body, making sure it fits securely.
4. Push coolant hoses onto the heat exchanger and secure with fastening clamps.
