Eliminating Noise Symptoms - Reworking The Windstop

General information

Symptoms

Buzzing/rattling noises from around the windstop.

Causes and remedial action

Buzzing/rattling noises from between the windstop middle section and side roll-over bar; bodywork showing through the paintwork in places on the roll-over bar.

In the event of a complaint, a profile section and two buffers must be fitted on the windstop middle section to remedy the situation on vehicles manufactured before the date of introduction May 2005.

Preliminary work

1. Remove the windstop middle section. Refer to Removing and installing windstop

Reworking the windstop

1. Stick a profile section -1- to the side of the windstop middle section -2- in area measuring -X= 5 mm- using -Loctite 406-.







2. Stick buffers -1- into the groove on the bottom of the windstop middle section -2-.







Subsequent work

1. Install the windstop middle section. Refer to Removing and installing windstop
