Removing And Installing Cowl Panel Cover

Technical values







Preliminary work

1. Remove right and left wiper arm. Refer to Removing and installing wiper arm.
2. Remove battery cover. Refer to Removing and installing battery.
3. Remove left and right cover Refer to Removing and installing cover.

Removing cowl panel cover

Removing lateral cap







1. Unclip lateral cap.







Removing upper cowl panel cover







1. Unscrew fastening nuts -1-. Remove spacer sleeve -2-, spring element -3- and sliding plate -4- in upward direction.







2. Unscrew fastening screw -5- in the centre.

Disconnecting plug connection of spray nozzle for windscreen washer system







1. Release electric plug connection for right and left spray nozzle -Arrow A- and pull apart.







Disconnecting water line for windscreen washer system







1. Rotate water line in -direction of arrow A- and pull off -Arrow B-.







Disconnecting plug connection for GPS antenna







INFORMATION: Only for vehicles with GPS antenna.

1. Under the cover for the cowl panel, release the electric plug connection -A- and remove.







Disconnecting plug connection for radio antenna







CAUTION: Voltage peaks can damage the audio system.
- Before unplugging/removing audio components, remove ignition key and switch off audio system.

INFORMATION: Only for vehicles with radio antenna.

1. Unclip the retaining clamps for the antenna line. Disconnect antenna line and undo the fastening screws -1-.







Removing lower cowl panel cover







INFORMATION: Two persons are needed to remove the cowl panel cover.

1. Unscrew fastening screws -1- and carefully remove cowl panel cover -2- upwards.







Installing cowl panel cover







INFORMATION: Two persons are needed to remove the cowl panel cover.

1. Insert cowl panel cover -2- in the plenum panel and align.







2. Tighten fastening screws -1-. Tightening torque: 1.5 ftlb.

Locking plug connection for radio antenna







INFORMATION: Only for vehicles with radio antenna.

1. Connect the antenna line and clip on the fuse.







2. Slide antenna onto its support and screw it down with the fastening screws -1-.

Locking plug connection for GPS antenna







INFORMATION: Only for vehicles with GPS antenna.

1. Push on the electric plug until it clicks into place.







Locking water line for windscreen washer system







1. Connect water line -Arrow A- and rotate in -direction of arrow B-.







Locking plug connection of spray nozzle for windscreen washer system







1. Push on electric connector for spray nozzle until it clicks into place.







Fastening upper cowl panel cover







1. Insert sliding plate -4-, spring element -3- and clamping bush -2-. Tighten fastening nuts -1-.







2. Tighten fastening screw -5-.

Installing lateral cover cap







1. Clip lateral cap into place.







Subsequent work

1. Install right and left wiper arm. Refer to Removing and installing wiper arm.
2. Install right and left cover. Refer to Removing and installing cover.
3. Install battery cover. Refer to Removing and installing battery.
