Preliminary work

Preliminary work for battery sensor

1. Open the luggage compartment floor.
2. Remove tool kit tray.
3. Partly remove left side trim panel for rear luggage compartment. -> 700319 Removing and installing side trim panel for rear luggage compartment Service and Repair

Removing battery sensor

1. Switch off ignition and remove the remote control from the ignition lock.
2. Disconnect the negative cable -1- on the battery.

3. Release and unplug electric connector on the battery sensor.

4. Screw off fastening nut -2- on the body and remove the ground strap and battery sensor.

Installing battery sensor

1. Connect ground strap to the ground point and secure with the fastening nut -2-. => Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

2. Fit battery sensor -1- and terminal clamp on the battery and secure them. => Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)+/-0.5 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)

3. Connect electric plug connection for battery sensor.

Subsequent work

Subsequent work for battery sensor

1. Re-fit left side trim panel for rear luggage compartment. -> 700319 Removing and installing side trim panel for rear luggage compartment - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
2. Fit tool kit tray.
3. Close the luggage compartment floor.
4. The battery sensor is detected and documented automatically by the gateway control unit.
