Symptom

On vehicles with electric steering column adjustment (I-no. 656):

If electric steering column adjustment is operated by pressing the button and keeping it pressed until the front limit stop is reached, steering column adjustment can sometimes move back automatically from the front to the rear limit stop.

Cause

Software error in control unit for electric steering column adjustment.

Date of introduction

The control units installed in vehicles produced from 1 April 2010 onwards are OK.

Remedial action

Replace control unit for electric steering column adjustment.
