Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Current Sensor Monitoring

3. Current sensor monitoring

3.1 Current sensor circuit (P0ABF)

3.1.1 Monitoring strategy
Battery system check internal sub CPU status of the current sensor circuit.
The current sensor circuit failure is detected by sub CPU during initialization.

3.1.2 Enable conditions

3.1.3 Chart(s) and flowchart(s)

3.2 Current sensor out of range (P0AC2, P0AC1)

3.2.1 Monitoring strategy
This monitoring strategy will check, if the current sensor value exceeds an upper or lower current threshold.

3.2.2 Enable conditions

3.2.3 Chart(s) and flowchart(s)

3.3 Current sensor rationality (P0AC0)

3.3.1 Current sensor rationality check

3.3.1.1 Monitoring strategy
This monitoring strategy checks the current sensor value exceeds an upper or lower current threshold (see Figure 3-2).

3.3.1.2 Enable conditions

3.3.1.3 Chart(s) and flowchart(s)

3.3.2 Current sensor stuck check (P0AC0)

3.3.2.1 Monitoring strategy
Direction of current and TMV08 voltage indicates charging (+) or discharging (-).
This monitoring strategy will check, if the direction of the current and TMV08 (voltage over fuse) voltage are the same.

3.3.2.2 Enable conditions

3.3.2.3 Chart(s) and flowchart(s)

3.3.3 Current sensor offset check (P0AC0)

3.3.3.1 Monitoring strategy
This monitoring strategy will check, if the current sensor value during initialization and contactors are open.
If the current sensor measures a value above or below zero a malfunction is detected.

3.3.3.2 Enable conditions
