Preliminary work

Preliminary work for height adjustment control unit

1. If a new control unit has to be installed, the values and codings must be read out using PIWIS Tester II 9818 prior to removing the "old" height adjustment control unit. -> 483055 Replacing control unit for height adjustment 483055 Replacing control unit for height adjustment.
2. Remove steering column. -> 481519 Removing and installing steering column - section on "Removing" 481519 Removing and installing steering column.

NOTICE

Voltage peaks

- Risk of damage to load or to the control unit

-> Remove the ignition key and switch off load before disconnecting or removing load.





Installation position (shown on the Panamera)

1. Release electric plug connection -a- and disconnect it.

2. Unscrew fastening screw -1-.
3. Lift the height adjustment control unit and pull it out of the steering column.

Installing control unit for height adjustment

1. Place height adjustment control unit in steering column.
2. Secure height adjustment control unit using the fastening screw -1-. => Tightening torque: 3.6 Nm (2.5 ftlb.)+/-0.5 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)

3. Insert electric connector at the control unit until it engages securely.

Subsequent work

Subsequent work for height adjustment control unit

1. Install steering column. -> 481519 Removing and installing steering column - section on "Installing" 481519 Removing and installing steering column.
2. If the control unit was replaced, the "new" control unit must be adapted to suit the vehicle using PIWIS Tester II 9818. -> 483055 Replacing control unit for height adjustment 483055 Replacing control unit for height adjustment.
