Preliminary work

1. Remove rear apron, -> 635519 Removing and installing rear apron - section on "Removing" .
2. Disconnect wire harness for trailer hitch at the drive and remove wire harness for socket at the coupling, -> 972419 Removing and installing wire harness for removable trailer hitch - section on "Removing" 972419 Removing and installing wire harness for removable trailer hitch

Removing trailer hitch

Information

- A helper is needed for removing and installing the trailer hitch because of the weight.

1. Unscrew fastening screws -2-.

2. Remove trailer hitch -1-.

Installing trailer hitch

Installation is performed in reverse order to removal.
1. Tighten fastening screws to the specified tightening torque => Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.).
2. Tighten fastening screws to the specified torque angle => Torque angle: 120°.

Subsequent work

1. Connect wire harness for trailer hitch at the drive and fit wire harness for socket at the coupling, -> 972419 Removing and installing wire harness for removable trailer hitch - section on "Installing" 972419 Removing and installing wire harness for removable trailer hitch
2. Install rear apron, -> 635519 Removing and installing rear apron - section on "Installing" .
