WM 978309 Detaching and securing relay carrier

Preliminary work for relay carrier in engine compartment





Installation position





1. Move front lid to service position. -> 552213 Securing lid (service position) Procedures
2. Disconnect lid seal on the right side. -> 553319 Removing and installing seal for front lid - section on "Detaching" Service and Repair
3. Remove right cowl panel cover. -> 508719 Removing and installing cowl panel cover - section on "Removing" Service and Repair

Detaching relay carrier in engine compartment

1. Detach relay carrier in engine compartment.
1.1. Release retaining clips -1- on relay carrier in engine compartment -arrow A-.





Unclipping relay carrier in engine compartment

1.2. Lift relay carrier in engine compartment up and out -arrow B-.

Detaching relay carrier under passenger's seat

1. Move passenger's seat all the way back.
2. Pull up notch in the carpeted floor -arrow- and fix it to the side.

3. Detach relay carrier under passenger's seat.
3.1. Release retaining clip -arrow A-.

3.2. Swivel out relay carrier -arrow B-.
3.3. Pull retaining lug out of the locking mechanism -arrow C-.

Securing relay carrier in engine compartment

1. Secure relay carrier in engine compartment.
1.1. Place relay carrier in engine compartment in position.

1.2. Press down on relay carrier in engine compartment -arrow B- until retaining clips -1- engage securely.

Securing relay carrier under passenger's seat

1. Secure relay carrier under passenger's seat.
1.1. Insert retaining lug into the mounting -arrow A-.





Securing relay carrier under passenger's seat

1.2. Swivel relay carrier at retaining clip -arrow B- until it engages securely.
2. Place carpeted floor back into its initial position.
3. Move passenger's seat into its initial position.

Subsequent work for relay carrier in engine compartment

1. Secure lid seal on the right side. -> 553319 Removing and installing seal for front lid - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
2. Install right cowl panel cover. -> 508719 Removing and installing cowl panel cover - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
