Starter Motor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and remove catalytic converter shield.
2. Remove catalytic converter and starter heat shield.
3. Disconnect starter motor electrical connectors.
4. Disconnect coolant hoses as necessary, then remove upper left bolt and loosen upper right bolt of motor mount.
5. Loosen starter rear support bolt, then remove starter retaining bolts and the starter.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten starter retaining bolts before tightening starter bracket retaining bolt.
