Wiper Motor: Service and Repair

Fig. 11 Windshield wiper motor installation.:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove wiper arms by lifting base of arm and removing locknut.
3. Remove nuts securing arm pivots to cowl.
4. Disconnect wiper motor electrical connector and ground wire, then remove mounting plate retaining bolts.
5. Press motor assembly inward to free spindles, then position wiper linkage to the right as viewed from front of vehicle.
6. Remove wiper linkage assembly.
7. Remove motor drive link retaining nut.
8. Remove motor retaining screws, then the wiper motor.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Check to ensure that all drive links are aligned, Fig. 11, and that motor is in Park position prior to installation.
