Wiper Motor: Service and Repair

Fig. 10 Windshield wiper motor installation.:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove wiper arms, outer attaching bolts, junction block, ground wire, and plate attaching bolt.
3. Push inward to free two spindles, then pull assembly to left to remove assembly.
4. Unscrew drive link attaching nut (2), Fig. 10.
5. Remove three motor attaching bolts (1), then remove motor.
6. Reverse steps 4 and 5 to install motor, ensuring that drive links (A) and (B) are in line with motor in park position.
7. Position windshield wiper assembly from left until two spindles can be seen through two holes in cowl panel.
8. Push assembly up through holes and install two attaching nuts.
9. Tighten plate bolt.
10. Connect ground wire and junction block.
11. Install wiper arms, ensuring that drive links (A) and (B) are aligned.
