Valve Body: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support vehicle and drain transaxle into a suitable container.
2. Remove oil pan, gasket, filter, pickup tube and seal.
3. Remove all valve body retaining bolts except bolt 1, Fig. 8.
4. Slowly remove bolt 1, then lower valve body, spacer plate and gaskets, disconnecting manual linkage as assembly is lowered.
5. Remove clip securing sealed connector, disconnect connector and remove valve body assembly, Fig. 8
6. Position spacer plate and gaskets on valve body and insert center bolt to maintain position.
7. Connect sealed connector to case junction and secure with retaining clip.
8. Lift valve body assembly into position, engaging manual valve with linkage.
9. Position valve body on case and secure by installing bolts 1, 2 and 6 finger tight.
10. Install remaining bolts and torque all bolts to 7.5 ft.lbs. (90 inch lbs.) in proper sequence, Fig. 8.
11. Install filter assembly and oil pan using a new seal and gasket. Torque pan retaining bolts to 4.5 ft.lbs., then lower vehicle.
12. Fill transaxle to specified level and road test vehicle.
