This system consists of a charcoal canister and vapor lines, Fig. 75. Fuel vapor is vented through a vapor line to the charcoal canister located in the engine compartment, where fuel vapor is stored until the engine is started. At the top of the activated charcoal canister, Fig. 76, there are three hose connection ports and the diaphragm shell. When the engine is started, fuel vapor is carried by fresh air drawn through the canister to the air cleaner by means of a hose, then through the intake system and into the combustion chamber.
