Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair
Exhaust System (non-turbo):
Removal -
Allow
exhaust system to cool.

If convertor hardware is rusted, soak with penetrating oil.

Remove convertor nuts.
-
Remove convertor.
Installation -
Use new front packing and rear gasket.

If convertor studs are damaged, drill out and replace with grade 8 bolts and nuts.
-
Install convertor, tighten nuts to 14 ft lbs.
