Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair

WARNING: BEFORE COMMENCING ANY WORK REVIEW SERVICE PRECAUTIONS.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

CAUTION: The engine must not be running when the cable is disconnected, since the alternator could then be seriously damaged.

2. Remove the carpet from the center console on the passenger's side.
3. Unplug the connector from the control module. 4 Undo the two control module retaining bolts. Fit in reverse order.
Tightening torque, control module: 9 ± 2 Nm (6.6 ± 1.5 lb ft).
4. Plug an ISAT Scan Tool into the data link connector and clear any diagnostic trouble codes.
5. Start the engine. Check whether the SRS lamp lights up for about six seconds and then goes out. Unplug the ISAT Scan Tool.
