General Repair Notes

WARNING: Splicing of SRS cables is strictly prohibited. Splicing can give rise to malfunctioning which could render the system unserviceable and in the worst case result in injury.

CAUTION: Before doing any work on the system, always disconnect the negative battery cable.

A defective airbag component must not be repaired but should be replaced by a new component. Fresh insulation may be fitted to SRS system cables if the original insulation is damaged, provided that the copper conductors are intact and undamaged. Unscrew the steering wheel center pad (airbag module) and unplug the connector at the rear of the airbag.
