Filament monitor


NOTE: The Integrated Central Electronics (ICE) module does not monitor the headlamps.


The front filament monitor (228B) incorporates a shunt resistor and monitors the headlamp main and dipped beam filaments.

A fault developing in the front lighting circuit will give rise to imbalance, causing terminal C2 of the filament monitor to be grounded and a message to be displayed in Saab Information Display (SID) unit 2 or 3 or the "Faulty bulb" indicator lamp to light up in main instrument display panel 1.
