Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

To Remove
1. Release the sensor wiring by unplugging the connector under the intake manifold. (The connector and wiring under the intake manifold are extremely difficult of access.)

IMPORTANT: Note how the wiring is run and the points where the cable ties are fastened.

2. Snip the cable ties and remove the wiring.
3. Remove the sensor retaining bolt and remove the sensor. Note how the sealing ring is fitted.

To Fit
1. Clean the sensor seating and fit the sensor with O-ring correctly positioned.

Tightening torque, retaining bolt: 8 Nm (5.9 ft lbs).

2. Refit the wiring and secure it with cable ties.
3. Plug in the connector.
