Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair





TO REMOVE
1. Take off the engine cover.
2. Disconnect the idle air control valve with hoses.
3. Unplug the connector, undo the two retaining screws and remove the sensor. Note the "0" ring.

TO FIT
1. Check that the "0" ring is correctly positioned and install the sensor onto the throttle shaft. Tighten the retaining screws.
2. Connect the connector and the idle air control valve.
3. Install the cover.

WARNING: After replacing the throttle position sensor, adjusting the throttle position or replacing the ECM on cars equipped with the Saab clutch control module, the throttle position must be adapted before the car can be driven.

IDLING ADAPTATION
1. Ignition switched ON.
2. Connect an ISAT scan tool and contact Trionic.
3. Select the "IDLING ADAPTATION" command on the "ACTIVATE" menu (do not touch the accelerator pedal).
4. Select the "IDLING" command on the "READ ON/OFF" menu.

The ISAT must show "YES" when the accelerator pedal is not pressed.
