Alternator: Service and Repair

1 Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2 Remove the air cleaner and air induction hose from between the air cleaner and throttle body.
3 Take the strain off the belt tensioner and pry off the alternator's poly-V belt.
4 Raise the car and remove the right-hand front wheel.
5 Remove the cover for the belt drive.





6 Remove the hub nut.
7 Remove the outboard drive shaft
8 Disconnect the alternator leads.
9 Remove the alternator air intake (duct).
10 Remove the two bolts securing the alternator and lift it out through the right-hand wheel housing.

Install in reverse order.
