Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair





The crankshaft position sensor is mounted on the crankshaft at the flywheel end of the engine block.

To Remove
1. Remove the resonating chamber.
2. Unplug the connector to release the sensor wiring.

IMPORTANT: Note how the wiring is run and the location of these curing points for the cable ties.

3. Snip the cable ties and remove the wiring.
4. Remove the sensor retaining bolt and remove the sensor. Note the position of the sealing ring.

To Install

1. Clean the sensor seating and install the sensor with the sealing ring correctly mounted.
- Tightening torque, retaining bolt: 8 Nm (5.9 ft lbs)
2. Refit the wiring and secure it in place with cable ties.
3. Plug in the connector.
