To remove 1
Remove the engine cover.

Unplug the connector.

Undo the sensor with a
27 mm long socket.
To fit 1
Check the sealing washer and fit a new one if necessary.
Apply vaseline (part no.30 20 271) or equivalent to the sensor threads. Fit the sensor.
Tightening torque 17 Nm (12 lbf ft) 2
Spray the connector with Kontakt 61 (part no.30 04 520). Plug in the connector.

Fit the cover.
