Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair




To remove







1. Undo the hose clip between the connecting hose and the turbo inlet pipe.
2. Unplug the connector from the mass air flow sensor.
3. Detach the mass air flow sensor cable from the cable clips on the top of the air collection bo
4. Remove the top of the air collection box by undoing the snap fasteners and the 4 screws.
5. Lift off the top of the air collection box.
6. Detach the hose from the mass air flow sensor by undoing the clip.







7. Remove the mass air flow sensor, 2 screws.


To fit







1. Apply acid-tree Vaseline, part no.30 06 665, to the rubber seal on the mass air flow sensor. Change the rubber seal necessary.
2. Fit the mass air flow sensor, 2 screws.

IMPORTANT The mass air flow sensor must be fitted in the intake air pipe with the arrows in the direction of flow.

3. Fit the hose to the mass air flow sensor.
4. Fit the top of the air collection box, snap fasteners and screws.







5. Attach the connecting hose to the turbo inlet pipe.
6. Plug in the mass air flow sensor connector after first spraying it with kontakt 61, part no.30 21 763.
7. Fasten the mass air flow sensor cable to the cable clips on the top of the air collection box. Adjust the cable so that it cannot be pinched or chafed.
