Drive Belt: Testing and Inspection

Drive belt, auxiliary equipment
Check that the marking on the moving part of the belt tensioner is between the two markings on the fixed part.
Check also the operation and condition of the belt tensioner by pressing against the belt. The belt should become taut again smoothly.
Check value for drive belt: Min 170 N (40 lbs.).
Use 83 93 985 Belt tension meter.

Checking condition of belt
The belt must not be cracked or flaking.
If there are any cracks or other defects on the belt profile or back, it must be replaced with a new one.
