Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Vehicle Lifting: Service and Repair

Lifting And Attachment Points

Exercise care when positioning a car on a lift or when using a jack. The following illustration shows the lifting and attachment points to be used:

A. Centered under the front subframe at the front towing eye mounting.
B. At the jack brackets under the scuff members.
C. Under the rear towing eye or under the towbar, if fitted.

WARNING: If incorrect lifting or attachment points are used, the car may be displaced or fall from its raised position, which may result in serious damage to the car or serious personal injury.

IMPORTANT: Do not lift the rear end of the car under the spare wheel well or rear axle as this can cause serious damage to the car.
