Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Service and Repair

Intake Air Temperature Sensor

To remove

1. Remove the rubber cap and unplug the connector.

2. Remove the sensor.

To fit

1. Check the sealing washer and fit a new one if necessary.
Apply vaseline (part no. 30 20 271) or equivalent to the sensor threads. Fit the sensor.
Tightening torque 7 Nm (5 lbf ft)
2. Spray the connector with Kontakt 61 (part no. 30 04 520). Plug in the connector.
3. Fit the rubber cap.
