Rear Window And Door Mirror Heating Does Not Come On Until 20 Seconds After Ignition Is Switched On

Fault symptoms

Electrically heated rear window does not start until 20 seconds after ignition is turned on.










Probable cause

No +54 circuit current when +15 circuit current is present.

Diagnostic help

Check fuse C in the cabin.

The following readings can be obtained with the diagnostics instrument:

Ignition +15
Ignition +54

If there is no +54 circuit current when +15 circuit current is present, the DICE control module thinks that the ignition switch is in the START position. DICE then disconnects certain items of electrical equipment to reduce the load on the car battery. If there is no +54 circuit current when +15 circuit current is present for more than 20 seconds, the fault is probably in the car's electrical system as the car starts in less than 20 seconds.
