Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

SID Module - Rain Sensor

Control Module Connection Test Values, Rain Sensor

Scope
This section contains the readings and instructions for measuring voltage levels on the SID unit.

Remember
^ Observe the conditions set for testing and use common sense when assessing the results.
^ First make sure that the control module is receiving power and that it is grounded.
^ Then check all the sensor inputs and signals from other systems.
^ Finally check the control module outputs. Remember that the test readings do not indicate whether the actuator is working.
^ If a test value is incorrect, consult the wiring diagram to trace which leads, connectors and components should be checked more thoroughly.
^ The specified test readings refer to those obtained with a calibrated Fluke 88/97.
^ The test readings show the signal's pulse ratio and pulse duration. A test instrument capable of giving pulse ratio and pulse duration readings should be used. The sign indicates a positive trigger pulse, TRIG+.
