Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to SIR Warning (SIR Warning).

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).




2. Remove the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement (Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement).
3. Remove all wire harness straps.
4. Disconnect connectors, if necessary.




5. Depress the top and bottom clips on the windshield wiper and washer switch assembly.
6. Slide the windshield wiper and washer switch assembly away from the bracket to disengage.

Installation Procedure




1. Slide the windshield wiper and washer switch assembly into the bracket until the clips engage.




2. Route the wire harness assembly along the steering column jacket assembly.
3. Connect the windshield wiper and washer switch assembly connector, if necessary.




4. Install the wire harness strap (2) to the steering column tilt head assembly (1).
5. Install the wire harness strap (2) to the wire harness assembly.




6. Pop the wire harness assembly (1) into the wire harness strap (2).
7. Install the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement (Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement).
8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
