Passive Restraint Control Module (PRCM)

The passive restraint control module (PRCM) controls the LAP BELT and shoulder belt indicator lamps. It controls these lamps by pulling the circuit to ground. When the circuit is pulled to ground, the indicator lamp for that circuit is illuminated.

The passive restraint module controls these indicator lamps based upon information it receives from various switches. These switches inform the PRCM if the lap belts or shoulder belts are unbuckled or if there is a problem detected within the passive restraint system.
