Steering Angle Sensor: Service and Repair





HANDWHEEL SENSOR (COUPE ONLY)


Handwheel Sensor - Mounted On Steering Column.:






REMOVAL


1. Rotate steering wheel until clamp bolt at lower steering column/intermediate shaft joint is accessible.

2. Remove clamp bolt at lower steering column/intermediate shaft joint.

3. Slide intermediate shaft off lower steering column.

4. Remove Handwheel sensor from lower steering column support bracket by releaseing both sensor locking tabs.

5. Rotate Handwheel sensor 180 degrees, until electrical connector is easily accessible. Disconnect electrical connector from sensor.

INSTALLATION

1. Position Handwheel sensor onto lower steering column

2. Connect electrical connector onto Handwheel speed sensor.

3. Install Handwheel sensor onto lower steering column support bracket by snapping sensor locking tabs into bracket.

NOTE: Make sure that the electrical connector is pointing in the proper direction (facing upward).

4. Position intermediate shaft onto steering column and install pinch bolt.
^ Torque: 47 Nm (35 ft lbs)
