Transmission Mode Switch: Service and Repair

Shift Mode Switch In Center Console:







REMOVAL

1. Remove console.


NOTICE: On 1993 vehicles built after and including VIN PZ219029, the shift mode switch is held in place with a Connector Position Assurance (CPA) device.


2. Remove CPA retainer if present.


3. Release retaining tabs from the bottom side and remove switch.


4. Remove shift mode switch connector retainer and disconnect connector.


INSTALLATION

1. Connect shift mode switch connector and install connector retainer.


2. Snap switch into place. (Make sure both tabs are fully seated.)


3. Install CPA retainer if removed.


4. Install console.
