Transmission Control System Relay: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The master enable relay (also called "A/TRANS") provides power to the transmission actuator solenoids.

OPERATION
The master enable relay (A/Trans relay) is grounded and is provided by power when the ignition switch is turned on. This energizes the relay allowing power to flow to the five actuator solenoids and to supply a feedback signal to the PCM.


LOCATION
The master enable relay is located in the underhood junction block.
