Unlocking System After Power Loss

UNLOCKING SYSTEM AFTER POWER LOSS
If the radio has lost battery power while in the SECURE state, the radio will be in the LOCKED state when power is restored (display will show "LOC"). The user may unlock the radio using the following procedure.

The radio is automatically in Security Input Mode. Enter the user's previously programmed code as follows:
1. Press SEEK >, < SEEK, TUNE, or < TUNE to obtain "0000" display.
2. Press SEEK > to increment the first digit 0-9 with rollover.
3. Press < SEEK to increment the second digit 0-9 with rollover.
4. Press TUNE > to increment the third digit 0-9 with rollover.
5. Press < TUNE to increment the fourth digit 0-9 with rollover.
6. When the correct four digit number appears in the display, press AM/FM to store the code.
7. If the code is correct, the radio will enter the SECURE state, and normal operation may be resumed. All radio function memories will be returned to their default values following battery power interruptions.
8. If the code is incorrect, the radio will display "ERR" for approximately five seconds, and then a second attempt may be tried.
9. If the correct code is not entered in eight attempts, further attempts are prohibited for a period of one hour. "INOP" will be displayed if any attempt is made to enter an unlock during the one hour period.

IMPORTANT: During the one hour period the ignition must be in the "ACC" position with all accessories off. Otherwise, power will not reach the radio and it will never reset internally to allow itself to be unlocked.
