Audio Controls and Operation

Power Switch


The receiver is turned on and off by rotating the volume control knob at the counterclockwise end of travel. This switch has operating priority over all other electrical switches.


When the radio is switched ON, the tuned frequency and band will be displayed for approximately 5 seconds followed by the time of day. The ST indicator is also displayed if receiving an FM stereo broadcast.

Volume


The audio level is adjusted by rotating the volume control clockwise to increase or counterclockwise to reduce volume. At the most counterclockwise position (prior to switching off the power switch), volume will be inaudible.


Balance


The balance control is used to adjust the relative volume in the left and right speakers. Counterclockwise rotation will strongly favor the left speakers. Clockwise rotation will strongly favor the right speakers A detent identifies the center of rotation.


Fade


The rotary fade control adjusts the relative volume in the front and rear speakers Clockwise rotation strongly favors the rear speakers and counterclockwise rotation strongly favors the front speakers. A detent identi6es the center of rotation.


When the knob is pressed in. it will physically latch relatively flush with the trimplate. To facilitate adjustment the control knob may be pressed and released causing the knob to pop out.


Bass and Treble


The rotary treble tone control adjusts the relative treble audio response. Clockwise rotation increases treble response and counterclockwise rotation decreases treble response. A detent identifies the center of rotation.


The rotary bass tone control adjusts the relative bass audio response. Clockwise rotation increases bass response and counterclockwise rotation decreases bass response. A detent identifies the center of rotation.


When either knob is pressed in, it will physically latch relatively flush with the trimplate. To facilitate adjustment, the control knob may be pressed and released causing the knob to pop out.
