Setting Security Code

OPERATION AND CONTROLS
The security input mode allows the user to enter codes to activate or deactivate the theft deterrent svstem and allows authorized service personnel to recall a specially encrypted factory code for use if the user's code is lost or forgotten.

To enter the security input mode from the VULNERABLE or SECURE states, the following conditions must be met:
1. Ignition On.
2. Radio power switch Off.
3. Press presets 5 and 6 for five seconds.

Once the radio is in the security input mode, one of two messages will be displayed depending on whether the theft deterrent system is activated. If the system is active (and the radio is not locked), "SEC" will be displayed. If the system is not active, - - - -"will be displayed. All controls except Power, AM/FM, preset combination 2+3, Seek up/down, and Tune up/down shall be inoperative.
Security input mode is automatically activated when the unit is in the LOCKED state.

5. Press < TUNE to increment the fourth digit 0-9 with rollover.
6. When the correct four-digit number appears in the display, press AM/FM to store the code.
