Circuit Testing - Power


Circuit 202


Location: Connects underhood junction block connector cavity A to ignition switch connector cavity H.


Type: Red 12 gage wire


Function: This circuit provides power to the ignition switch.


Check for OPENS/SHORTS.


Repair as needed.


If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the "Complaint-Condition" chart.


Circuit 4/43


Function: These circuits provide power to the IGN4 input of the radio. The radio can be turned On when this input receives voltage.

Location: Connects ignition switch connector cavity G to instrument panel junction block connector cavity F12.


Type: Brown 14 gage wire


Check for OPENS/SHORTS.


Repair as needed.


If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the "Complaint-Condition" chart.


Circuit 43


Location: Connects instrument panel junction block connector cavity C12 to radio connector cavity 9.


Type: Yellow 22 gage wire


Check for OPENS/SHORTS.


Repair as needed.


If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the "Complaint-Condition" chart.


Circuit 402/440F


Function: These circuits provide power to the B+ input of the radio. The radio will retain the contents of the memory as long as there is voltage on this circuit.

Location: Connects underhood junction block connector cavity B to instrument panel junction block connector cavity F5.


Type: Red/White 14 gage wire


Check for OPENS/SHORTS.


Repair as needed.


If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the "Complaint-Condition" chart.

Circuit 440F


Location: Connects instrument panel junction block connector cavity E5 to radio connector cavity 10.


Type: Orange 22 gage wire


Check for OPENS/SHORTS.


Repair as needed.


If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the "Complaint-Condition" chart.


Circuit 9M


Location: Connects park tamp switch connector cavity 6 to radio connector cavity 6.


Type: Brown 22 gage wire


Function: This circuit provides power to the radio display bulb.


Check for OPENS/SHORTS.


Repair as needed.


If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the "Complaint-Condition" chart.


Circuit 44H


Location: Connects dim illumination connector cavity 7 to radio connector cavity 7.


Type: DK Green 22 gage wire


Function: This circuit provides power to the radio dim illumination bulb.


Check for OPENS/SHORTS.


Repair as needed.


If this component is good, go to the next item indicated on the "Complaint-Condition" chart.

Function: These circuits provide power to the left rear speaker.

Location: Connects radio connector cavity 20 to inline connector cavity V.


Type: Brown 22 gage wire


Check for OPENS/SHORTS.


Repair as needed.

Function: These circuits provide a signal from the radio to the left rear speaker.

Function: These circuits provide power to the right rear speaker.

Antenna Cable


This wire carries the radio input signal from the antenna to the antenna input of the radio. It is shielded coaxial cable with a coaxial extension to the radio.


Check for OPENS/SHORTS.
