Sunroof Guide Replacement





SUNROOF GUIDE ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL






1. Position sunroof glass in vent position and remove sunroof glass as outlined in "Sunroof Glass Removal" procedure.






2. Remove wind deflector, if equipped, by pushing spring ends down and forward. Slide wind deflector rearward and remove.






3. Remove locator (locator right side, locator and microswitch left side) by removing locator screw, inserting a small screwdriver into locator screw hole, tilting screwdriver toward center of the vehicle and sliding it forward.

4. Remove sunshade as outlined in "Sunshade Removal" procedure.






5. Lift drive cable end out of guide assembly.

6. Remove guide assembly screws and rear screw and spacer.

7. Slide rear of guide assembly toward center of car and remove guide assembly.

INSTALLATION






1. Install guide assembly by positioning front of guide at front mounting location with rear of guide at opposite corner of sunroof opening. Slide rear of guide under roof panel toward outboard side of roof opening to rear mounting position.

2. Install guide rear spacer and guide screws.

Torque: 4-5 Nm (35-44 in-lbs)






3. Engage drive cable into guide assembly.

4. Install sunshade as outlined in "Sunshade Installation" procedure.






5. Install locator by positioning locator into guide assembly slightly ahead of their installed position, inserting a small screwdriver into locator screw hole, and pushing rearward and down on locator to engage them.

6. Install locator screw.






7. Install sunroof glass as outlined in "Sunroof Glass Installation" procedures.

8. Apply Loctite 222 Small Screw Threadlocker (or equivalent) to sunroof screws and install. Do not tighten screws at this time

9. Power sunroof to closed position. Adjust sunroof glass to 1 mm (0.40 in.) below roof surface at front of glass and 1 mm (0.40 in.) above roof surface at rear of glass and tighten fasteners.
