Removal/Installation

REPLACE
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Drain engine oil.
3. Remove righthand front wheel assembly and splash shield.
4. Using a universal three jaw puller, Fig. 12, while holding damper, remove front crankshaft damper assembly. Do not pry against cover.
5. Remove accessory drive belt idler pulley, to allow front cover to be removed and replaced in vehicle.
6. Remove engine accessory drive belt.
7. Remove power steering pump and position aside.
8. Remove belt tensioner.
9. Remove cam cover.
10. Remove three righthand upper engine torque axis mount to front cover attaching nuts, allowing engine to rest on block of wood.
11. Hold front crankshaft timing sprocket using tool No. SA9104E, or equivalent, with flat side toward crankshaft sprocket.
12. Remove four front oil pan attaching bolts and 14 front cover attaching bolts.
13. Using tool No. SA9123E, or equivalent, cut RTV seal from front cover.
14. Using front cover pry tangs, remove cover, then remove and discard two oil gallery transfer seals.
15. Reverse procedure to install.
