FUEL GAUGE TANK UNIT CALIBRATION AND ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT

When trying to determine if the fuel gauge sending unit is registering correctly, the following chart should be used.

The gauge should be read at three positions using a Digital Volt/Ohm meter at connector pins B and C in trunk of vehicle.

Float Positions are:
^ Full - (Float Fully Raised)
^ 1/2 Tank - (Float 1/2 Raised) - (Approximately 6.5 gallons)
^ "E" Range - (Still Fuel in Tank)
^ Empty Stop - (Float Fully Lowered, Tank Empty)

NOTE: Sender unit can be most accurately diagnosed (while still in vehicle) at "FULL" and "EMPTY/STOP". If the calibration is incorrect, replace the sender assembly.
