Fuel Pump Electrical Test

IPJB - Instrument Panel Junction Block:

FUEL PUMP ELECTRICAL CHECK

WARNING: Do not allow smoking or the use of open fumes in the area where work on the fuel system is taking place. Anytime the fuel system is being worked on, disconnect the negative battery cable, except for those test where battery voltage is required.

If pressure is not registered at the Schrader valve with ignition in the ON position, proceed with the following:
1. Test the fuel pump fuse in the fuse box; if open, replace.
2. Switch relays in fuse box and test system. The relays are interchangeable.
3. Check for loose ground at tank unit harness in rear compartment.
4. Check for 12 volts in circuit 120 at tank. If 12 volts are not available at pump, check:
a. Electrical connectors and circuit.
b. Relay.
5. If all of the above are satisfactory; replace pump module.
