DISASSEMBLE
1. Remove power steering pump from vehicle.
2. Remove reservoir retaining clips from reservoir assembly.
3. Remove reservoir from housing.
4. Remove O-ring seal from pump housing, then remove pulley using puller tool No. SA9162C, or equivalent.
5. Remove three power steering pump to bracket fasteners and remove bracket from pump.
6. Remove EVO actuator assembly using removal tool No. SA9116C, or equivalent.
7. Remove flow control valve and spring.
8. Remove retaining ring, Fig. 2, as follows:
a. Use a C-clamp (one side on end cover, the other on pump driveshaft) to depress end cover, easing removal of retaining ring.
b. Insert a piece of wood between C-clamp and pump driveshaft.
c. Place a punch into pump housing access hole and remove retaining ring.
9. Gently push on driveshaft to assist in removing end cover.
10. Remove internal pump components in two groups, Fig. 3, as follows:
a. Remove end cover, O-ring, pressure plate spring and pressure plate.
b. Remove driveshaft with pump rotor, pump vanes, pump ring, thrust plate and shaft retaining ring.
11. Remove O-ring seal (A), two dowel pins (B) and driveshaft seal (C) from pump housing, Fig. 4.
12. Remove pressure plate, pressure plate spring and O-ring from end cover.
13. Remove shaft retaining ring from driveshaft.
14. Remove pump rotor, pump vanes, pump ring and thrust plate from driveshaft, Fig. 5.
15. Separate pump rotor, pump vanes and pump ring.
16. Clean all parts with new power steering fluid.
17. Inspect pump ring, pump vanes, thrust plate and driveshaft for scoring, pitting or chatter marks.
18. Replace any damaged components. Do not attempt to remove damage with abrasive cleaners.
19. A wavy pattern on pump ring face will be present with low mileage and should not be mistaken for premature wear or damage.

ASSEMBLE
1. Lubricate driveshaft with new power steering fluid.
2. Install new driveshaft seal into pump housing using a suitably sized socket as a driver.
3. Install thrust plate and pump rotor onto driveshaft.
4. Install driveshaft/rotor/thrust plate assembly into housing, Fig. 6.
5. Install pump ring dowel pins into pump housing through thrust plate. Install pump ring (with holes correctly positioned onto dowel pins) into housing, Fig. 7.
6. Pump ring face has a indentation on one side near the dowel hole. The ring must be installed with the indentation facing up.

NOTE: If ring is installed upside down, the pump will not function.

7. Install vanes into pump rotor. Vanes may be installed in either direction.
8. Lubricate new pump housing O-ring with power steering fluid and install into groove in housing.
9. Align pressure plate dowel holes with dowel pins and install plate into housing.
10. Position pressure plate spring against pressure plate. Lubricate new end cover O-ring with power steering fluid and install onto end cover, Fig. 8.
11. Lubricate outer edit of end cover with power steering fluid, then press end cover into pump housing.
12. Install retaining ring into groove in pump housing, with ring opening near access hole in housing. Ensure ring is fully seated in housing groove.
13. Install three O-ring seals onto EVO actuator, if removed during disassembly procedure. Install three seals (A, B and C) in correct position as shown in Fig. 9.
14. Correctly position EVO actuator and discharge fitting to pump assembly, Fig. 10.
15. Torque EVO actuator to 46 ft. lbs. using installation tool No. SA9116C, or equivalent, Fig. 10. .
16. Install power steering pump bracket onto power steering pump with three fasteners. Torque to 28 ft. lbs.
17. Install pump pulley using installation tool No. SA9162C, or equivalent.
18. Lubricate new reservoir O-ring with power steering fluid and install onto reservoir.
19. Install reservoir into pump housing. Push reservoir straight into housing, then install retaining clips.
20. Install pump on engine and Bleed Power Steering System. Service and Repair
